The grass had been laid, the ramp was in place and the dirt landing was been piled high - very high. The Red Bull Experiment was ready to go (unfortunately with one less test of the laws of physics due to Rhys Millen's Injury), on New Year’s Eve at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Robbie Maddison, a freestyle motocross star from Australia, nailed his jump over the length of a football field to set a Guinness World Record for the longest motorcycle jump (322+ feet). “Maddo” literally leaped right into 2008.
In addition to Maddison’s jump into the new year, the party was completed with live acts by music stars Angels & Airwaves, beats laid down by Mix Master Mike and a set by alt rockers Boys Like Girls. The Red Bull Air Force also made a skydive out of the darkness and the TNT freestyle motocross team threw down tricks with style.
All in all, a world record night o remember.
